EFFECTS OF UKRAINE COOPERATION WITH WTO THE LAST FIVE YEARS

World Trade Organization established January 1, 1995 to liberalize international trade and to regulate trade and political relations between the Member States [1].

After 14 years of negotiations January 25, 2008 at its final meeting of the Working Party after accession of Ukraine to the WTO adopted a set of documents with the terms of Ukraine’s accession to the WTO. According to estimates of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the country had more injections in amounts from 1.5 to 4 billion dollars a year, also reduced the average rate applicable customs tariff by 2 % [2]. May 16, 2008 Ukraine became the 152nd member of the World Trade Organization.

There is a thought about the necessity to revise the terms of the contract, so that the national industry can’t compete. But we view from the perspective of an ordinary citizen of the country, we can see a lot of positive. And entrepreneur got out to the international market, with the abolition of mandatory certification [3].

Ukraine is a country with an open economy, thanks to the introduction and establishment of a full-fledged member of the WTO to see significant results. Exports of goods and services in 2013 amounted to 82337.4 mil dollars (2008 was 78,74 mil).

In the 5 years that Ukraine held in the WTO, we can say that the current stage of development is characterized by the following features:

– steadily increasing openness of the national economy, which is reflected in the increase of the share of exports and imports in GDP;

– at the same time the traditional markets of Ukrainian exports is uncertain, much of experts predict a deterioration of their situation;

– the extremely slow process of restructuring the economy and fixed assets at a very low level, influence on the competitiveness of most sectors of the economy;

– urgent task is to shift to the factors of economic growth based on domestic consumption and investment demand;

– the government faced to the full stimulation of investment processes and providing them with innovative orientation.

It seems obvious that features mentioned above are taken into account in the construction of foreign policy of Ukraine. Ukraine’s accession to the WTO and the subsequent increased involvement in global economic processes that contribute to solving the problems faced at the present stage of economic development of Ukraine.

Strategic policy on liberalization of foreign economic relations in recent years, runs well and inconsistent tactical decisions Ukrainian authorities [4]. With regard to recent events, the November 8, 2013 Ukraine appealed to the WTO with a treatment to Russia formally explain and justify the imposition of restrictions on the supply of confectionery products for compliance with the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade. This is stated in the document for Ukraine Committee Meeting on Technical Barriers to Trade, published on the website of the organization. After this conflict countries agreed to inspect the factories Roshen and return the company’s products is to the Russian market.

Five years has passed since Ukraine’s accession to the WTO has been five years. Having advantages in international trade causes the WTO membership of almost all economically developed countries. From that, the correct data will be used as future benefits depends on the population and the economy.
