THE ROLE OF AGRICULTURAL SPHERE IN THE ECONOMY OF INDUSTRIAL AREA(AT THE OF DNIPROPETROVSK REGION)

Ukraine’s agriculture has always been and remains today one of the main areas of economic development, an important object of socio-geographical research. However in our opinion, in today’s environment of work integration it, is not sufficient to analyze agriculture only «as one of the main branches of material production – cultivation of crops and breeding livestock to provide citizens with food, and industry – with raw materials». We consider studying agriculture in the system of industry relations of production and processing of agricultural products, as well as then bringing it to the end customer to be reasonable in. This agriculture forms genetic and functional basis of agroindustrial complex as a component of unity of various.

The national science, referring to the composition and grouping of agro-industrial complex is divided into separate spheres at national, regional and local levels. In its turn, concept of agro-industrial complex isn’t widely used in foreign scientific sources. The term «agribusiness « is used more often. In terms of sectoral composition it is possible to identify the component of the concepts «agro-industrial complex» and «agribusiness «, however the latter concept is narrower in scope to a certain extent.

Nowadays agricultural sector is one of the largest sectors of Ukraine’s economy, which is reflected in one of the most developed regions – Dnipropetrovsk region. The relative share of the region among other regions in the agricultural sphere is 5.2 % (the 6th place in Ukraine after Kiev, Vinnitsa, Cherkassy, Poltava and Kharkiv). The structure of agricultural production involves: agricultural enterprises 57.6 % (crop growing – 50.3 %, livestock breeding – 68.9 %), households (crop growing – 49.7 %, livestock breeding – 31.1 %).

Agricultural activity is conducted in the region lay 3768 agricultural state enterprises of different forms of ownership, among which there are 3073 form enterprises. The structure of the gross agricultural output industrial crops dominate in crop growing, and raising cattle and poultry dominates in livestock breeding (Fig.).

Strategic approach for improving productivity and increasing production performance in livestock industry is the genetic improvement of selectional and breed qualities of animals, bred by national and foreign selection in the farms of different ownership.

So, Dnipropetrovsk region, as one of the most powerful and industrialized regions, has the same high performance in agriculture, which proves once again that the area is attractive for Ukrainian and foreign investors, creating possibilities not only for the development primary industries, but also for the extension of agriculture.
